bookkeeper
PART-TIME | Position open until filled
Whitetooth Brewing is looking for a part-time Bookkeeper willing to commit to minimum 3 days per week. Reporting to the Controller, the Bookkeeper is responsible for all basic financial transactions and compliance on a regular basis by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, daily financial entries and reconciliations, and business administration duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate is an accurate, enthusiastic, self-motivated individual with a passion for craft beer and bookkeeping. The job requires attention to detail and effective independent judgment in order to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload. Entering and organizing sensitive data & information requires discretion and confidentiality.

Process DSWR (digital sales web reporting) weekly and month-end batch reporting to the BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB).
Record sales from multiple sources: LDB purchase orders, LRS, licensee, and retail sales.
Process credit card, cheque, and EFT receivables from customers and follow up with customers to collect payment as required.
Process supplier invoices and prepare payments as required.
Ensure inventory records are complete and well-maintained.
Prepare monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
Prepare GST, PST, and Excise Duty returns.
Process payroll biweekly for approval by management.
File & process quarterly Worksafe BC reports.
Maintain regular counts of physical inventory
Provide HR support and act as a point of contact for our employee benefits plan.
Assist in preparation of a monthly financial package.
Periodically prepare PST self assessment.
Assist in the preparation of working papers for year-end external financial review.
Adhere to internal financial policies & procedures & βbest practiceβ methodologies.
Assist with process improvement & Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) development.
Monitor changes within the multiple apps and cloud software tools used, by participating in webinars &/or training.
Keep track of hours spent on each task.
Manage phone calls from suppliers and customers.
Keep management informed of progress, issues, and deadlines.
All other duties as needed and requested by management

We prefer a minimum of 3 years previous experience in a Bookkeeping &/or Accounting role.
Post secondary, Bachelor degree or Accounting specific qualifications are required.
Professional Bookkeeper Certification is desirable (level 4 equiv. of the CPB certification).
Fluency required with applicable software applications (Google Apps and QuickBooks Online)
Experience with Ekos, Hubdoc, Touchbistro, Ollie Order is an asset.
Superior time management & multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision to meet deadlines.
Show initiative & use good judgment to handle a large volume of daily transactions.
Needs to be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills but also ability to work independently.
Excellent communication skills including writing professional correspondence.
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion & professionalism.
Prior experience in Brewing or Manufacturing industry is preferred.
